Batteryhold? Are you new?
Not really. While Batteryhold is a newly developed product range addressing a specific risk category, we are not new to the industry. Batteryhold is produced by our Stronghold manufacturing division, which has been making steel products in Australia since 2001. Stronghold is part of Culpan Industries, a company with over 55 years of experience in steel manufacturing in Melbourne. You can rely on our expertise and trust that we’ll continue to be here to support our products and and create new ones to fit your needs long into the future.
Where are these battery collection cabinets made?
Our Batteryhold steel collection cabinets are proudly 100% Australian-made in Melbourne. This ensures high-quality control and comes backed with a 5-year warranty. It also insures against any concerns about international shipping delays or hold-ups.
What are there fire containment properties
Our dual-skinned steel battery collection cabinets are designed for fire containment. When lined with the optional ceramic insulation blanket, they offer additional protection by retaining low thermal conductivity at high temperatures, insulating up to 1200°C, withstanding continuous temperatures of 1050°C, and resisting thermal shock. All essential protections in the event of a thermal runaway event from lithium-ion batteries.
Do these battery collection cabinets come with a warranty?
Yes. Our Batteryhold steel collection cabinets are proudly manufactured in our purpose built production facility in Melbourne and we back their quality with a 5-year warranty.
Why does the design of these battery collection cabinets matter?
The ACCC recently reported a 92% increase in lithium-ion battery incidents in 2022 compared to 2020, including swelling, overheating, and fires. With the use of lithium-ion batteries expected to grow exponentially each year, battery collection systems for recycling must be specifically designed to contain intense fires and mitigate the risk of any thermal runaway events. These fires are particularly difficult to extinguish, as they can reignite and, depending on the battery size, burn for days. Securely and safely storing collected batteries in steel walled containers that can contain flame and heat significantly reduces the risk to life and property, while continuing to build public engagement and confidence in essential battery recycling programs.
Why is there no standard price list?
Perhaps because it’s a relatively new needs category, but our experience so far for our Batteryhold products has been that every enquiry has been different in terms of quantities, features, options and customisations, so our standard price list ended up being not very useful to anyone. Instead, simply contact us using the ‘Get A Quote’ button with the details of what you want and we’ll get back to you with the answers and pricing that fits with exactly what you need.
