Designed to reduce lithium battery fire risk

Purpose-designed containment systems to support safer lithium battery handling and risk management in public, commercial, and industrial environments.

Made-In-Melbourne. Since 1969

We’ve been making things that last — right here in Melbourne — since 1969.

From our beginnings as a small metalworking business, we’ve grown into a family-owned group manufacturing steel and timber solutions under one roof — supporting schools, workplaces, and public facilities across Australia and New Zealand.

Across every brand, our focus remains the same: practical design, reliable manufacturing, and products built to last — backed by a family-owned business that values long-term relationships

Why this matters

Lithium-ion battery thermal runaway events are difficult to extinguish, can reignite, and may burn for extended periods. As battery collection volumes increase, systems for storage, transport, and recycling must be designed to contain these risks.

Steel-walled containment that resists flame and heat helps reduce exposure to people and property, while supporting safe and reliable battery recycling programs.

Council Battery & E-Waste Drop-Off Cabinets

Batteryhold steel collection cabinets are engineered for secure, durable deployment in unsupervised public drop-off locations, including local government facilities, resource recovery centres, libraries & community hubs and charity op-shops.

These steel collection cabinets provide long-term infrastructure for hazardous e-waste streams where risk mitigation, clear user direction and tamper resistance are critical.

These collection cabinets shown here were designed to align with Sustainability Victoria’s CEIF – Hazardous Waste Round 4 funding program. Made in Melbourne.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the questions we most often get asked by our clients.

Still have a question? Talk to us and get the answers you need

Do you import your products or make them?

We believe in Australian made. All our products are made in Melbourne at our purpose-built facility in Campbellfield.

Warranty?

The shortcut answer is if we make it, we guarantee it for 10 years. This guarantee covers faults in materials and workmanship but does not include damage from normal wear and tear or improper use. However, some components—such as locks or other parts supplied by third-party manufacturers—have a separate warranty, typically one year. Consumable parts like batteries are also excluded from the 10-year coverage. Make sure to read the T&C’s for the full details.

Can you make customised sizes?

Yes. Most of our products can be made a bit taller, a bit wider or not quite so deep. We can do the redesign in-house. Just talk to us to let us know what you need and we can provide you with a quote.

Can I choose a colour?

We offer a wide range of high-quality powder coat colour options from Dulux and other trusted suppliers. Choose from our popular Standard Range, upgrade to our Premium Range, or customize with a colour match to fit your brand or design. Just let us know your requirements, and we’ll include it in your quote.

What is the production lead time?

We understand the importance of quick delivery, so we manage production and supply chains to minimise lead times. Lead times can range from a few weeks to longer, depending on materials and demand. The production lead time will be included in your written quote and confirmed with your order.

How do I get a quote?

To request a quote, fill out the form by clicking the ‘Get A Quote’ button on any of the product pages on this website or use the ‘Contact Us’ form published in the footer. You can also call us directly. We typically respond within 2-3 business days, though quotes for large projects may take longer because of their complexity. If you have a commercial account, you can request a price list for quick costings on standard items via the Contact Us form or by calling us.

Do you deliver?

Yes, we deliver to most metropolitan Melbourne locations, and delivery costs will be included in your quote. For other destinations, we can arrange freight. Alternatively, you can book a pickup from our loading dock at our production site in Campbellfield.

Can you deliver directly to my customer?

Yes, we can arrange delivery directly to your client or a third party. We'll ensure no invoice is included with the goods, allowing you to invoice your customer directly.

What are the fire containment properties?

Our dual-skinned steel battery collection cabinets and transport stillages are designed for fire containment. When fitted with the optional ceramic insulation lining, they provide enhanced thermal protection by retaining low thermal conductivity at high temperatures—insulating up to 1200°C, withstanding continuous temperatures of 1050°C, and resisting thermal shock. These protections are critical in the event of a lithium-ion battery thermal runaway.

Manufactured responsibly

Our Melbourne production facility is largely powered by rooftop solar and we catch and reuse rainwater onsite to reduce environmental impact.
